Privacy policy

Effective 6 October 2026. This policy covers every JotOwl product: Apify actors, Chrome extensions, Shopify apps, WordPress plugins and digital downloads.

Who we are

JotOwl is an independent software publisher based in Canada. Contact: support@jotowl.com.

What we collect

Payments. Marketplaces process all payments (Apify, Gumroad, Shopify, or Stripe through ExtensionPay). We never see or store card numbers. From them we receive your purchase status and, where the platform shares it, your email address.

Support. If you email us, we keep the conversation so we can help you.

Product data. Data extractors (Apify actors) process the inputs you give them and return results to your own Apify account. We do not keep copies of your inputs or results. Browser extensions store their settings in your browser and send nothing to us unless a product page says otherwise. Shopify apps access only the store data the app requests at install, use it only to provide the app, and delete it within 48 hours of uninstall or of a Shopify data-erasure request.

Diagnostics. We may keep minimal error logs (time, product version, error message) to fix bugs. They contain no personal content and are deleted within 30 days.

What we never do

We do not sell personal information, show ads, or share data with third parties except the payment and hosting providers that run the products.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing support@jotowl.com. We answer within 30 days. This applies under Canadian law (PIPEDA), the GDPR and the CCPA, whichever covers you.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above. Material changes will also be noted on the listing of each affected product.
